Creating and painting an icon of a cross of Jesus: an unique way of experiencing the death and suffering of Jesus on the cross
Camp Mark Seven's religious program offers a six day spiritual journey for everyone who wishes to understand and embrace the pain and sorrow of Jesus on the cross by drawing and painting an icon of the cross. An hour daily lecture on the Theology of Salvation by the Holy Cross will be offered as a part of the iconography seminar.
Each participant will draw and paint a wooden cross, transforming the cross into an icon as an expression of one's faith and solidary with Jesus in his suffering and death.
Through prayer, seminar discussion, and painting icons of the cross workshop, we will contemplate how Jesus embraced the Cross for our redemption and how this mystery continues to shape our faith today. It will be like having a personal WAY OF THE CROSS during the iconography seminar.

Accessibility Notice
We want every camper to enjoy their time at Camp Mark Seven to the fullest. However, because our beautiful site and main lodge are more than a century old, some areas are not fully accessible. Please note that the camp does not have elevators or accessible pathways to the beach or lawn areas. Adult campers should be able to climb stairs to reach dorm rooms, the dining hall, and other common spaces, and navigate uneven paths and hills between the Lodge and the waterfront.
