Deaf Youth Camp (Ages 9 -12)
Deaf Youth Camp ~ Create unforgettable camping memories that would last in your minds.
Time to get away from your iPhones/Androids and technology! Get outside among Nature's bounty and have an adventure on the lake in the beautiful Adirondack mountains!
Camp Mark Seven offers many social, teamwork and leadership activities for the deaf Teen and Youth program. The program is designed to provide a sense of caring for one other, honesty, respect as well as enhancing each camper’s self confidence, self esteem, social skills, teamwork, own initiative, along with 'work and play' with other campers and camp staff. With this goal, campers will have FUN doing diverse camp activities.
Program Activities:
- Swimming and tubing.
- Canoe trips
- Diverse outdoor games.
- Deaflympics.
- Arts & Crafts.
- STEM activities.
- Hike different mountains.
- Evening Bonfires.
- Shopping in Old Forge and Inlet.
- Waterpark Fun.
Campers will create skits for Parents’ Night whichis offered at the end of each specific program. Family members are invited to come and watch their child’s skits.
This program is available for everyone – CM7 serves serve deaf Youths ages 9 to 12 from residential schools for the deaf, mainstreamed programs for the deaf and hard of hearing, and public schools with interpreting services or special programs for deaf individuals with cochlear implants.
