COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING (CIT)

Responsible to: Program Director

General Responsibility: Assists counselors and the coordinators with the campers' activities.

General Responsibilities and Qualifications:

• Child of Deaf Adults (CODA), 17 years old
• Prior experience as a camper
• Ability to follow directions, guidance and feedback
• Ability and willingness to place the needs of campers above personal desires
• Be a role model and set a good example for campers
• Participate in group discussions regarding the planning of activities prior to arriving at camp
• Lead and supervise activities within your department
• Follow and maintain the health and safety regulations. Make sure campers do the same.
• Be an active participant in camp activities while exemplifying good sportsmanship, positive attitude and ready to try new things
• Ability to communicate effectively with campers and other counselors
• Perform all duties as assigned
• Attend staff meetings, and offer support to staff members
• Willingness to work together as a team and support others to meet group goals
• Have an understanding, acceptance and implantation of CM7 rules and expectations, overall mission, and core values.
