Coda Retreat Campership 2025

The Camp Mark 7 (CM7) Coda Campership was established in an effort to support Coda’s in the life-changing experience of Coda only space at CM7. This retreat celebrates the unique lived experience of Codas uplifting our shared cultural identity in a safe and all-accepting atmosphere. This campership aims to carve pathways for a more diverse range of attendees to the Coda retreat by providing a scholarship towards retreat registration fee (valuing $300).

Two camperships will be awarded for the 2025 Coda Retreat

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered for the campership, the adult should meet all of the following criteria:

1. Must be a Coda. A Coda is a hearing child of deaf adults. This person is someone who has at least one Deaf/deaf/DeafBlind/Hard of Hearing parent. 
2. Must be at least 21 years of age. 
3. Has never attended the Coda Retreat at Camp Mark Seven (Updated- if  you have attended CM7 previously in a different program you are eligible as long as you have not attended the Coda retreat).
4. Submit a written English essay (typed and up to 300 words) or ASL video (up to 2 minutes in MOV, MP4, or M4V formats) essay stating their desire to attend the adult Coda retreat at CM7 and explain why. Please describe why you are in financial need of the Coda Campership.

Application deadline is July 1, 2025. Applicants will be notified via email by July 15, 2025. Applicants must accept and confirm their attendance by July 25, 2025.

Selection of the Coda adult to receive the Camperships will be made by the Mark Seven Deaf Foundation (M7DF) Board or a duly appointed Committee thereof.  Such a decision by the Board or Committee is in the sole discretion of M7DF and is final.

Please be sure to complete your registration and deposit prior to submitting this campership application. This includes the Camp Mark 7 registration and the Coda retreat supplemental registration.

If you are not selected for the campership you will be notified via email and given the opportunity to complete your registration and payment. If you are unable to proceed with your registration and payment please notify us and we will refund you the $50.00 deposit. We will have a grace period until August 1, 2025, to allow for those registrations to be completed.
